Job description

The Field & Junior Network Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support for end users while assisting with the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the organization’s network infrastructure. This position provides onsite support at company locations and requires regular travel between facilities to install, maintain, and support computer systems, network equipment, and end-user technology.

This role combines desktop support with hands-on networking responsibilities and is ideal for someone looking to expand their networking knowledge while supporting manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically skilled, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • End User & Field Support

  • Provide Tier II and Tier III technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows workstations and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Travel between company locations to provide onsite technical support as needed.
  • Set up new employee workstations, user accounts, and equipment.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Image, deploy, and replace computers using company standards.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot local and network printers.
  • Coordinate printer repairs with third-party vendors when necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while resolving technical issues.
  • Network Support

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network switches, wireless access points, routers, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
  • Assist with switch replacements, network upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Monitor network performance and escalate infrastructure issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and IP address records.
  • Support implementation of network security best practices.
  • Project Responsibilities

  • Participate in IT infrastructure projects, including PC deployments, office relocations, hardware lifecycle replacements, and network refreshes.
  • Assist in documenting technical procedures and standards.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives and endpoint security solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of IT support experience.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, DHCP, DNS, and network printers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly between company locations.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti, or similar networking equipment.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling.
  • Basic PowerShell scripting.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification.
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification.
  • Microsoft Certifications.
