Job description

TACI is seeking experienced Data Center Fiber Technicians with a background in ISP, OSP, Central Office, Headend, and Data Center environments. This position supports fiber optic installations, structured cabling, testing, troubleshooting, and network infrastructure deployments in mission-critical facilities., * Install, route, terminate, label, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.

  • Install racks, cabinets, fiber raceways, ladder rack, cable tray, and structured cabling systems.
  • Read engineering drawings, rack elevations, splice diagrams, fiber allocation plans, and cable schedules.
  • Support fiber migrations, equipment turn-ups, network expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Complete testing documentation, redlines, quality inspections, and project closeout documentation.

Requirements

Placement and compensation are based on demonstrated experience, technical ability, certifications, leadership skills, and project requirements., * Experience working in ISP, OSP, Central Office, Headend, Enterprise, or Data Center environments.

  • Experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic infrastructure.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, fiber prints, rack elevations, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency using OTDRs, optical power meters, VFLs, and other fiber testing equipment.
  • Ability to travel and work nights, weekends, and maintenance windows as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fusion splicing and MPO/MTP fiber experience.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, edge, or enterprise data centers.
  • Knowledge of DC power, grounding, and bonding systems.
  • BICSI, FOA, OSHA, OEM, or manufacturer certifications.
  • Previous experience leading fiber installation teams or serving as a Site Lead.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working within active telecommunications facilities and data centers. Candidates must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work in mission-critical environments while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
