Job description

Hilltop Holdings is looking for a DevOps Engineer to support the implementation and maintenance of DevOps practices to enable efficient software delivery and reliable system operations. The position focuses on CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, automation, Windows/Linux-based system support, and monitoring. The engineer will collaborate with development and operations teams to improve deployment processes, troubleshoot issues, and maintain scalable environments while continuing to build technical expertise., The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals in, or assigned to, the above position and are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required, and may be changed at the discretion of the Company.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of DevOps solutions.
  • Build, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments using Azure DevOps.
  • Implement and support infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Manage and support containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Support and troubleshoot Windows/Linux-based systems used by DevOps platforms, application environments, and operational tooling.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and reliability issues.
  • Assist with implementing observability solutions (logging, monitoring, and alerting).
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software lifecycle.
  • Follow security best practices in deployments and infrastructure.
  • Document processes, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and provide input.
  • Participate in incident response and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Generate reports and metrics on system health and deployment performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Azure DevOps.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Experience supporting Axway SFTP software or secure file transfer platforms preferred.
  • Experience with Git version control systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one infrastructure-as-code tool (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

Preferred Certifications and Experience

  • Azure Fundamentals or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • Terraform Associate (or similar)
  • Relevant DevOps-related certifications are a plus

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
