Job description
Ciegate Technologies is hiring a full-time On-Site IT Support Specialist to serve as the dedicated technology resource at a manufacturing client’s Gastonia facility. You’ll be the hands-on presence on the floor and in the office, backed by Ciegate’s remote helpdesk and engineering team.
This is not a phone-queue helpdesk job. You’ll own day-to-day support users while also handling new-hire onboarding, production-floor technology, physical security systems, and vendor coordination. If you like variety, solving problems in person, and being the person people are genuinely glad to see walk onto the floor, this role fits.

- Troubleshoot Windows desktops and laptops, peripherals, and remote-access issues
- Prepare, deploy, and relocate computers and workstation equipment
- Set up and support printers, scanners, and Zebra label printers

- Resolve Sage ERP login, permissions, performance, and workflow issues
- Support shipping stations, pick lists, and label printing so production keeps moving
Onboarding and access
- Run the technology side of new-hire onboarding end to end: intake, checklist, equipment build, and workstation setup
- Create user accounts, email access, and Microsoft 365 configuration
- Assign ERP access and coordinate badge and door-access requests
- Coordinate desk, equipment, and workstation placement with department managers
- Confirm every new employee is ready to work on day one
Manufacturing floor technology
- Support barcode scanners, tablets, and inventory and WIP technology across production areas
- Handle mounting, power, charging, and placement for floor equipment

Physical security and facilities technology
- Assess surveillance camera coverage and identify blind spots, obstructions, and disconnected devices
- Document coverage gaps and recommend camera moves or replacements
- Evaluate network, power, mounting, and field-of-view constraints
- Support access-control, visitor-management, and reception kiosk requirements
Coordination and documentation
- Work with third-party vendors opening support cases
- Verify equipment requirements before ordering; track renewals and outstanding vendor actions
- Partner with department managers to define operational technology needs
- Document systems, devices, locations, and configurations accurately
- Record all material work in the ticketing and project-management systems
- Escalate outages, security concerns, and production-impacting issues promptly
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on IT support, desktop support, or systems support experience
- Strong Windows troubleshooting skills across computers and common peripherals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, shared mailboxes, and user account administration

- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Clear written documentation and professional communication skills
- Ability to work independently while following established escalation and change-control procedures
- Comfortable working across office, warehouse, shipping, and manufacturing-floor environments
- Ability to safely install, relocate, and connect standard computer and peripheral equipment
