Job description
The Senior Oracle Middleware Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will
provide expert-level Oracle infrastructure, database, middleware, cloud migration, analytics, security, and automation support for the U.S. Department of Education (ED) Office of Inspector General (OIG),
maintaining and modernizing the existing on-premises Oracle environment while supporting migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and cloud-native services, including Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC); supporting Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
migration, Oracle security and identity integration, vulnerability remediation, automation, monitoring, and the resulting hybrid environment., Maintain and modernize the existing on-premises Oracle environment, including Oracle Grid
Infrastructure, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) Database, Advanced Security, Database
Vault, and Oracle Fusion Middleware components, including Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise
Edition (OBIEE), WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server (OHS), Oracle Access Manager (OAM), Oracle
Internet Directory (OID), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), and Cloud Control.
Perform Oracle database and middleware upgrades, configuration changes, monthly Critical Patch
Updates (CPUs), and urgent hotfixes, including post-patch application and report performance tuning
and optimization.
Manage the OIG Data Analytical System (ODAS) Storage Area Network (SAN) refresh and
migration to Oracle Database Appliance, including Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
disk configuration and storage optimization.
Lead technical Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) migration and provide ongoing operational support
for the OCI environment.
Provision, configure, and maintain Oracle Autonomous Database Serverless and Dedicated instances,
including performance monitoring, automated scaling management, and security policy enforcement.
Migrate Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) workloads to Oracle Analytics
Cloud (OAC), including report conversion, dashboard optimization, and data-model integrity.
Requirements
5 to 10 years of experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Information Technology, or equivalent.
U.S. citizenship required.
Active Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification required.
Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in on-premises Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure (OCI) cloud architectures.
Tier 4 Public Trust, High Risk security requirement.
Pay: $130.00 per hour
