Information Security Analyst

In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day threat monitoring, performing vulnerability scans across our network, managing user permissions, and ensuring our endpoint defenses are fully updated. You will work directly with our systems engineers and IT manager to investigate security alerts, respond to incidents, and maintain our compliance baselines.

Responsibilities

• Watch daily SIEM alerts (Splunk/Sentinel), triage suspicious network activity, and execute initial response actions to isolate compromised machines.
• Run scheduled scans using Tenable Nessus or Qualys, compile findings, rank risks by severity, and coordinate with systems administrators to apply software patches.
• Administer CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender EDR agents across servers and workstations to confirm real-time telemetry and policy enforcement.
• Audit Active Directory and Azure AD/Entra ID account permissions, process access requests using least-privilege models, and review MFA compliance.
• Review daily firewall traffic logs, secure email gateway flags, and web filter reports to identify phishing attempts and rogue connections.
• Maintain event log records, track patch verification steps, and help gather technical evidence for annual SOC 2 audits.

• 3+ years in an Information Security Analyst, SOC Analyst, or IT Security role.
• Hands-on experience using SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and EDR consoles.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, and Windows/Linux operating system security settings.
• Basic hands-on skill with PowerShell or Python to pull logs and run basic security reports.
• Active cybersecurity certification (such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or SSCP) is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
