Job description
- Install and connect devices in server racks using copper, power, and fiber cabling
- Perform structured cabling installations for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, coaxial, and fiber optic systems
- Pull, route, suspend, terminate, label, and test cabling according to industry standards
- Perform Smart Hands support including fiber/copper patching, troubleshooting, and cable routing
- Transport, unload, and position server racks throughout the data center
- Build out MDF/IDF closets including racks, patch panels, ladder trays, and wire management
- Work from ladders and lifts as needed in active data center environments
- Read and follow project documentation, standards, and installation procedures
- Maintain organized and professional workmanship while ensuring safety compliance
- Follow BICSI standards, NEC code requirements, and customer specifications
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Power tools?, Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of following directions while maintaining quality workmanship throughout repetitive tasks and large-scale deployments., * Ability to work on ladders and use power tools
- Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs
- Must own basic low-voltage tools (snips, screwdrivers, strippers, wrenches, etc.)
- Comfortable performing repetitive installation tasks
- Able to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts when required
- Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
- Data center experience preferred
Tech 2
- 1+ year of hyperscale data center low-voltage experience
- Experience with rack and stack, patching, cable routing, and structured cabling
- Able to terminate jacks, pull cable, and “work a 90” with limited supervision
- Experience building MDF/IDF closets and installing network hardware
Tech 3
- 2+ years of hyperscale data center experience
- Able to perform rack and stack, structured cabling, patching, and testing independently
- Strong understanding of copper and fiber installations with minimal supervision
- Professional working proficiency in English
Preferred Certifications
- BICSI Installer or Technician Certification
- OSHA 10
- Lift Certification
- CPR / First Aid
- Confined Space Certification
- Manufacturer Installation Certifications
PPE Required
Full PPE required at all times on site.
