Job description

  • Install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
  • Perform rack and stack of network, server, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Install cable pathways, including ladder racks, cable trays, conduit, and J-hooks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, network diagrams, and project drawings.
  • Conduct cable testing and certification using industry-standard test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues and perform corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and daily work reports.
  • Follow all customer, company, and data center security protocols.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support project teams with data center builds, expansions, upgrades, and decommissioning activities.
  • Travel to project locations as required.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Telecommunications network troubleshooting?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, NCS is seeking a Data Center Data Technician to support the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of structured cabling and network infrastructure within data center environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with copper and fiber optic cabling systems, possess strong technical skills, and be willing to travel extensively to project sites nationwide., * High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center environments.
  • Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling installations.
  • Ability to terminate and test copper and fiber optic cables.
  • Experience with rack and stack installations.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and network schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BICSI Installer Certification.
  • Fiber Optic Certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience working in mission-critical or hyperscale data center environments.
  • Experience with fusion splicing and fiber testing equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in active construction and data center environments.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Benefits & conditions

Travel Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 75-100% of the time.
  • Travel may include overnight and extended out-of-state assignments.
  • Per diem and travel accommodations provided in accordance with company policy.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
