Software Engineer, Senior - Platform Engineer (NJUS)

Tasks and Responsibilities Design, build, test, maintain, and support software applications, services, and systems, ensuring they deliver business value and are fully prepared for operational use. Ensure application resiliency, stability, security, and data protection by implementing robust engineering practices, proactive monitoring, and adherence to organizational and industry standards. Provide technical leadership for engineering teams and contribute to the definition, design, development, integration, test and documentation of the product and its features in alignment with established technology and architectural standards. Collaborate with the people on your team, in your functional area, and with your business stakeholders to ensure business value is achieved. Demonstrate leadership and accountability by taking ownership of commitments, delivering results with integrity, and ensuring outcomes meet agreed-upon goals. Operate within an agile team to deliver outcomes iteratively while fostering empiricism, learning, and continuous improvement in delivery practices.

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Computer Engineering Certifications and Licenses Years of Experience 4-6 years of experience Core Competencies Service-Oriented Curiosity Collaboration Adaptability Strives For Positive Results Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 4-6 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related technical discipline. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance. Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript with experience building and supporting scalable enterprise applications. Experience designing, developing, and supporting microservices, distributed systems, and API-based architectures. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native services, containerization technologies such as Docker, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Strong experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or similar technologies. Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and GitOps-based delivery practices. Knowledge of DevSecOps principles, including secure software development practices, vulnerability management, security compliance, software supply chain security, and application/platform security. Experience operating and supporting production environments, including managed services such as Amazon OpenSearch, ElastiCache/Redis, and MSK/Kafka. Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence practices. Experience participating in on-call rotations and supporting production systems in a high-availability environment. Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and modern engineering best practices.
