Job description
The Systems Engineer will participate and perform in a variety of activities including proactive solution development; collaboration with other Engineers and support teams for problem resolution; and technical project design and execution. The Systems Engineer is responsible for hands-on solution development, validation, and technical integration efforts. The candidate will work with other resources or delivery teams to build component solutions or major solutions of various sizes and complexities. Related responsibilities include:
- Communicate with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements.
- Perform technical implementation tasks ensuring work is delivered on schedule.

Effectively troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during the project lifecycle.
- Provide design concepts and time estimates for implementing custom solutions to customers and/or other support teams.
- Identify and recommend cost effective solutions for lowering operational costs, streamlining processes, and improving the overall operational environment.
- Communicate project information through presentations, technical reports, or white papers.
- Complete models and simulations, using manual or automated tools, to analyze or predict system performance under different operating conditions.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for deployed systems, including standard configuration, operating procedures, and administration guides.

Requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including, but not limited to, procedures and technical documentation.
- SharePoint Online administration
- Windows administration, security, and configuration management.
- Effective problem solving.
- Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) to create and modify documentation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google)
- PowerShell or similar Windows scripting experience
- Ability to develop strong working relationships.
Helpful Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Visual Studio and/or VS Code
- Familiarity with GitHub and/or Git
- NetBackup, SQL, UNIX, Red Hat Linux, Automation
- Enterprise storage design/operation and virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
- SCCM, SCOM, vSphere 8/9, and SAN support/administration
- Cloud applications: OneDrive, PowerBI
- Troubleshooting enterprise problems
- Project Management experience
- IT incident management software (ServiceNow)
Essential Education/Experience: A minimum of 5 years of total experience, with at least 3 years in a Systems Engineering role, is required. A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems is desired. Microsoft Certifications on Azure or Windows Server (2016 or later) are strongly preferred. ITIL version 3 certification is a plus.
