What You’ll Do:
- Provide strong people and technical leadership for multiple enterprise software engineering teams, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture and removing execution or organizational barriers.
- Lead the planning, prioritization, and delivery of complex, regulated healthcare software initiatives, balancing scope, quality, timelines, and resources to achieve predictable release outcomes.
- Own architectural execution aligned to system-level technical direction and product roadmaps, supporting scalable, secure, and sustainable enterprise and platform solutions.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Systems Engineering, V&V, Cybersecurity, Quality, Operations, and PMO to ensure integrated planning, release readiness, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Drive release excellence and operational rigor, including deployment readiness, quality standards, upgrade paths, and coordination across enterprise, server-side, and platform software.
- Work closely with Support, QA, and Engineering teams to troubleshoot complex field issues, guide technical escalations, and prevent recurrence through root-cause and systemic improvements.
- Establish and evolve DevOps and CI/CD practices, including automation, deployment tooling, and release governance to support reliability, scalability, and future SaaS/cloud offerings.
- Develop and mentor engineering leaders and senior talent through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and career and technical leadership development.
- Support interoperability and integration strategy by ensuring enterprise software aligns with standards-based healthcare interfaces, reporting, and internal/external system integrations.
- Promote effective communication and customer engagement, enabling engineering teams to support customer-facing discussions and critical escalations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Software Engineering required (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 12+ years of progressive experience in enterprise software engineering, including leadership of multiple teams or engineering managers.
- Demonstrated success delivering regulated products in medical, safety-critical, or industrial environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR) with proven partnership and collaboration with Quality Assurance and Validation & Verification (V&V) teams.
- Experience with modern product development practices, including Agile and Lean methodologies, test automation, and DevOps / CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver a portfolio of concurrent software initiatives with predictable execution, quality, and release outcomes.
- Demonstrated success improving estimation accuracy, planning rigor, and execution discipline across distributed or matrixed engineering teams.
- Experience contributing to business and technology strategy and translating strategy into actionable, executable software plans.
- Experience managing departmental budgets, capacity planning, and resource allocation in a complex engineering organization.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior cross-functional leaders and external partners.
