Job description

With over 600 active City users and 3,000+ vendors in our D365 ecosystem, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Commerce/Point of Sale platforms. You’ll also contribute to innovative initiatives that align with our bold goal: to become the state-of-the-art model for government finance technology across the U.S. Under general direction, the Dynamics 365 Systems Analyst will provide functional support for the Dynamics Solution Manager and end users of Dynamics 365; performs related duties as required. This is a hybrid position that includes both mandatory in-office days and remote work. To meet operational needs, the selected candidate must commute to Columbus City Hall in Columbus, Ohio multiple days per week. Relocation is not available for this role. Unclassified Positions: A person who has been selected by an appointing authority in accordance with the Columbus City Charter, Section 148(1) is said to have received an unclassified appointment.   • Resolve Help Desk tickets related to Dynamics 365 Finance and Commerce platforms.
  • Manage user creation, access, and training assignments.
  • Conduct security audits and ensure compliance across user roles.
  • Deliver responsive support via email, phone, and Webex, ensuring superior customer care.
  • Monitor SendGrid/Auditor Email utilities and handle bounce backs, unsubscribes, and alerts.
  • Troubleshoot ad hoc operational issues for City and vendor users with precision and empathy.

Testing, Automation & Innovation

  • Collaborate on regression test scripts and perform system/data validation.
  • Execute regression testing prior to Dynamics releases and build/maintain automated test cases.
  • Analyze new features in Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Commerce to assess impact.
  • Contribute to Power Platform and AI agent initiatives that drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Crosstrain on critical system functions to support business continuity and resilience.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Develop and/or maintain training materials and user documentation.
  • Provide hands-on end-user training and support.
  • Create engaging training videos for the City Dynamics Community.
  • Participate in User Group meetings, offering insights and preparing content.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, and/or Commerce/Point of Sale.
  • Familiarity with public sector accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, procurement and point-of-sale.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling).
  • Experience with automated testing tools, Power Platform.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and propose scalable solutions.
  • Understanding of security roles, user access management within Dynamics 365.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and align with team goals and priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and train users across all levels.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus across departments.

Innovation & Growth Mindset

  • Passion for exploring new features in Dynamics 365 and identifying opportunities for process automation.
  • Experience contributing to Power Platform and AI agent initiatives.
  • Strong desire to learn, adapt, and stay ahead of emerging technologies., * Experience with Dataverse, Fabric, Synapse, Power Automate, or Canvas apps.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies or DevOps practices.
  • Certification in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform Fundamentals.
  • Exposure to SendGrid, Webex, or other enterprise communication tools.
