Job description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead a small Agile team supporting the Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) for the U.S. Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM). This role supports the creation of live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training environments that enable Guardians to test, train, and develop tactics in operationally relevant scenarios. The Senior Software Engineer will provide hands-on technical leadership while guiding architectural and technology decisions across complex, distributed training environments. Acting as a Product Owner, the candidate will collaborate with government stakeholders, integrators, and vendors to translate mission requirements into prioritized user stories and a clear product roadmap. This role includes designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure, reliable software within a tiered DevSecOps environment in accordance with DoD standards. The engineer will mentor junior team members, champion Agile Scrum best practices, and enforce high standards for code quality, security, and performance. This position offers the opportunity to gain deep expertise in the space warfighting domain and advanced simulation technologies while directly advancing U.S. Space Force full spectrum readiness.

Requirements

    • Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus in one of the following:

  • Modeling & Simulation: Experience with M&S platforms, tools (e.g., STK, AFSIM), and methodologies, including their test and integration in software applications.

  • 3D Data Visualization: Expertise with 3D “whole earth” applications (Cesium, STK, ArcGIS, Unity) and data visualization techniques, including for geographic information systems (GIS), game, or simulation purposes.

  • Systems Integration & Test: Strong background in planning, performing, and testing diverse system integrations through public APIs (REST, ASP.NET) or C#/C++ assemblies/DLLs in a DevSecOps environment.

*4 years of experience in a leadership role in an Agile Scrum environment, preferably as a Scrum Master or Product Owner

  • Domain-specific knowledge in either:

· Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) distributed training environments.

· Space and Missile Defense, e.g., space operations, orbital warfare (OW), electronic warfare (EW), command and control (C2). · Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.

· Industry-recognized Agile certification (e.g., CSM, CSPO).
