Information Systems Information Technology Audit Information Technology

Job description

Business today runs on technology - and so does audit. Our audit information technology team plays a crucial role in helping RSM deliver high-quality audits by understanding the systems clients rely on, assessing what could go wrong, and making sure the right procedures are in the right places.

As a member of the Technology Audit team, you’ll work with a wide range of clients - including large listed companies, national retail chains and high-profile charities - translating what technology does and how it does it, so we can perform smarter, more accurate audits.

You’ll be assessing what can go wrong, and how it might impact the business. You will test the client’s controls as a crucial part of RSM’s audit procedures and report findings within our team and to the client. This is a role where your view is listened to and counted on from the start.

After a couple of years of practical experience, you’ll begin studying towards the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification - a globally recognised certification for information systems audit control, assurance and security professionals. RSM will sponsor you through it.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Getting involved in client work quickly, initially across our two main hubs in London and Birmingham, before taking on greater individual responsibility as your skills develop.

  • Working with a wide variety of clients, including large, listed companies, national retail chains, and high-profile charities, as well as some of our international clients that operate throughout the UK and beyond.

  • Working as part of the team, you’ll be using your ability to understand the technology our clients use and how it supports their business.

You’ll mostly be based in the office or at a client site - giving you chance to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients while getting the support you need in the early stages of your career.

Requirements

We think passion, personality and originality are important to thrive at RSM. We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic self-starters who are always up for a challenge. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 112 UCAS points across three A levels (or equivalent level 3 qualification), 104 UCAS points across four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers, or an Irish Leaving Certificate (higher level).

  • An obtained or predicted honours degree.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A genuine interest in technology and the ability to pick up new and varied concepts quickly.

  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and clients.

  • Close attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • A willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as required.

About the company

As one of the world’s largest networks of audit, tax and consulting firms, RSM delivers big ideas and premium service to help middle-market businesses thrive. We are a fast-growing firm with big ambitions – we have a clear goal to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. This vision touches everything we do, motivating and inspiring us to become better every day. If you are looking for a firm where you can build a future and make an impact, then RSM is the place for you., At RSM, we want to create a strong sense of belonging so that people of all identities, backgrounds, and cultures feel they can bring their true self to work. Our clients come from all walks of life. We aim to achieve that same diversity of background, experience and perspective in our own teams, so that we can genuinely understand our client’s needs. Diverse teams bring a broader range of ideas and insights to work. That’s why we’re working together to ensure our firm’s principles and processes support a firm culture that embraces difference and strengthens inclusion.
