Software Engineering Manager

Our client is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to oversee the development of our client’s life-supporting medical device. This person will lead a team of engineers responsible for firmware, GUI, OS, and regulatory components of the product development. The Manager will focus on the team’s strength of software requirements, traceability, code-review discipline, and documentation quality; while also owning architecture, strategy, and deliverables for the next generation of this product.

Our client is a mid-sized medical device company experiencing a sustained period of growth. The Manager candidate should be comfortable working in an environment where hands-on work may be required in certain instances and where all facets of the product engineering team are working collaboratively.

• 7-10+ years in firmware/software development for physical devices

• Ability to lead engineers while still being hands-on

• Exposure to multiple facets of product development. Ie firmware coding, GUI, OS (MADAP, RTOS, etc), verification, and/or regulatory requirements

• Ability to create sprints across the entire product development team

• Medical Device experience or other regulated control system industries. ie aerospace, defense * Experience with FDA-regulated products and ISO regulations/standards

• Experience with IEC 62366 and 62304 medical device standards
