Job description

Design and implement features across the full technology stack, including APIs, user interfaces, and data layers, with limited supervision.
Develop clear technical approaches and implementation plans for assigned features.
Deploy and support applications in production environments.
Monitor applications, troubleshoot production incidents, and identify root causes.
Implement fixes and improvements that increase application reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Contribute to system architecture and technical direction, including scalability, security, and technology tradeoffs.
Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and estimate development efforts.
Deliver software iteratively within an Agile development environment.
Develop and maintain technical documentation as needed.
Work collaboratively with other engineers and technical teams to support mission requirements.

Requirements

Professional development experience with one or more of the following technologies:

PHP
.NET / C#
Java
Node.js
Python
HTML / CSS
JavaScript
Vue.js
React

Additional required experience:

Experience deploying and operating software on Linux, including service configuration, log analysis, basic networking, and automation.
Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication/authorization concepts, and secure coding practices.
Working knowledge of relational databases, including practical experience with indexes and query performance/tuning.
Ability to troubleshoot problems across application, operating system, and infrastructure layers.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications

Hands-on experience with AWS, including:
IAM
EC2
Application Load Balancer (ALB)
S3
RDS
CloudWatch
Experience with Microsoft Azure.
Experience supporting applications in production and working with cloud-based infrastructure.
Experience with CI/CD, automation, and modern software development practices.
