Job description
We are currently seeking an Operations Shift Lead 3rd shift (10PM to 6AM) to join the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO) effort. This program is establishing a modern secure web service (SWS) operation as part of a state-of-the-art, highly automated platform capable of supporting a rapidly expanding customer population. This position is based in Arlington, VA and is 100% on-site.
- Lead and coordinate operations tasks during assigned shifts.
- Oversee Monitoring of network, servers, applications, and infrastructure for outages and performance issues.
- Own incident triage, escalation, and resolution through closure.
- Coordinate with network, systems, security, application, and vendor teams.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs, escalation procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Review alerts and incidents for trends, recurring problems, and potential improvements.
- Conduct shift handovers and maintain accurate operational documentation.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance during complex incidents.
- Prepare incident reports, shift summaries, and operational metrics.
- Participate in major incident management and post-incident reviews.
Requirements
Certificate
8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification (e.g. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP), * Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of overall related experience with a Windows or Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree
- An active TS/SCI security clearance is required for this position.
- Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g Security+ce.
- Candidate may be asked to obtain CI Poly in future
- Comfortable working 24×7 shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience leading an operations team or acting as a senior escalation point.
- Excellent communication and incident coordination skills.
- Strong decision-making under pressure. Must be able to make independent risk based decisions while leading a small team during outages.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, or equivalent
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
- Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, switching
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Hands on experience in IT Cybersecurity, Network Operations, or Windows Server administration. *
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experienced with DISA and DISA’s support to mission partners
- TS/SCI w/CI Poly Preferred
- Previous shift-lead or team-lead experience in a DoD, military, or cleared NOC/SOC environment
- Experience refining shift SOPs, playbooks, or escalation procedures based on operational trends
