Join Next Level Technician as an Access Control and CCTV Design Engineer in North Richland Hills, TX! Earn $85,000-$100,000 annually, enjoy weekly pay, benefits, and the opportunity to grow into a hybrid role with a national leader in low voltage staffing.

This is an in-office position Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM CST, with the potential to transition into a hybrid schedule as you grow within the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed drawings and layouts for access control and CCTV/security systems
  • Develop system designs based on project requirements, specifications, and customer needs
  • Create and update access control and CCTV floor plans, device layouts, and system drawings
  • Review project plans and blueprints to determine appropriate device placement and system design
  • Design access control systems including readers, door contacts, REX devices, locks, control panels, and related components
  • Design CCTV systems including camera placement, coverage, mounting locations, and field-of-view requirements
  • Coordinate drawings with project managers, engineers, field technicians, and other trades
  • Review existing drawings and make revisions based on project changes and field conditions
  • Identify potential design conflicts or installation issues before projects reach the field
  • Assist with technical documentation, submittals, and project specifications as needed
  • Support project teams with technical questions related to access control and CCTV designs
  • Stay current on security system technologies, manufacturers, and industry standards

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience creating drawings for access control and CCTV systems
  • Strong understanding of commercial access control and CCTV systems
  • Experience designing security system layouts and device placement
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and construction documents
  • Experience creating, modifying, and reviewing detailed security system drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience with CAD or other design/drawing software
  • Knowledge of access control, CCTV, networking, and low voltage systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, customers, engineers, and field technicians
  • Security industry experience with manufacturers such as Genetec, LenelS2, Avigilon, Brivo, Verkada, Axis, or similar platforms is a plus
  • BICSI, manufacturer certifications, or other industry certifications are a plus
