Job description

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant - Infrastructure is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and analysis related to Archtop Fiber’s network infrastructure assets, including fiber optic networks, outside plant, electronics, central office equipment, buildings, vehicles, and construction-in-progress projects. This position partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Construction, Procurement, and Finance to ensure accurate capitalization, depreciation, project accounting, and regulatory compliance., * Maintain fixed asset records and construction-in-progress schedules for network expansion projects.

  • Review capital expenditures and determine proper capitalization in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Track project costs, vendor invoices, labor allocations, and material expenditures associated with fiber network builds.
  • Prepare monthly fixed asset reconciliations and depreciation journal entries.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including documentation supporting infrastructure assets and grant-funded projects.
  • Monitor asset retirements, disposals, transfers, and impairments.
  • Develop financial reporting and analytics relating to capital projects and telecom infrastructure investments.
  • Support regulatory reporting, grant reporting, and broadband program compliance requirements, including BEAD and state-funded initiatives as applicable.
  • Coordinate physical asset inventories and documentation reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3-7 years of accounting experience with fixed assets, project accounting, construction accounting, or telecommunications accounting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, capitalization policies, depreciation methodologies, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Experience within telecommunications, broadband, utility, infrastructure, or construction industries.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of FCC Part 32 accounting, telecom plant accounting, or regulatory reporting is a plus.
  • Experience supporting grant-funded infrastructure projects.
