Junior Java Developer

firstPRO is seeking a talented Junior Software Developer to join our client’s team. In this role, you will help design, develop, maintain, and optimize software powering industry-leading systems. You’ll work across a variety of technologies including Java, PHP, C/C++, HTML, Linux-based systems, web applications, client/server platforms, and embedded systems. This position is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building reliable software, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products in a highly regulated industry.

Responsibilites

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and system components
• Build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using Java and related technologies
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications and systems
• Support client/server applications, web applications, and embedded systems
• Collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, operations, and customers to improve products and user experience
• Participate in software architecture, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow software security best practices and quality standards
• Contribute to technical documentation and system reliability efforts

Do you have experience in System performance optimization?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

• 3+ years of professional software development experience with Java, or strong demonstrated Java project experience
• Strong programming and software development skills with a focus on writing efficient, high-quality code
• Solid understanding of scalable and maintainable software design principles, including DRY and SRP
• Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing software applications
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Linux experience
• Experience with C/C++ and/or PHP development
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data structures
• Experience developing or deploying software to embedded systems
• Familiarity with software security practices and technical documentation standards
• Experience in gaming, lottery, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with ISO standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 27001
