Job description

The Technology Training Specialist is a member of the Learning & Development team within Human Resources and will partner with functional area/subject matter experts (SMEs) to curate, develop and maintain technology training materials in multiple modalities, including job aids, videos, live/virtual instructor-led training, and online computer-based trainings. Make recommendations on resources to support all levels of IT Systems users across the organization. Focus on ensuring that faculty and staff are using technology as effectively and productively as possible.

This position will be a combination of in-office and remote work., Work with HR leadership, department leaders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify organizational learning and development needs, with a focus on technology, systems, and core capabilities. Collaborate with HR, IT, and other stakeholders to develop a cohesive curriculum of learning offerings (both synchronous and asynchronous) aligned to organizational priorities, onboarding, and strategic initiatives. Plan, design, and create employee learning solutions using a blended approach, including instructor-led training, hands-on lab sessions, digital learning, job aids, and curated learning pathways (e.g., LinkedIn Learning), with a continued focus on productivity tools such as Microsoft 365. Lead online and in-person training sessions for faculty and staff. Compile, curate, and promote internal and external learning resources, including LinkedIn Learning content, to support employee development and drive engagement with available learning tools. Support the administration and ongoing optimization of the Learning Management System (LMS), including course setup, learner tracking, reporting, and content organization. Partner with HR and IT to support learning-related processes within Workday (or other HR systems), including training assignments, reporting, and system-related learning resources. Collaborate closely with HR, IT, and other partners to support cross-functional initiatives, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of learning and development services. Support and participate in cross-training efforts to maximize team efficiency and provide coverage of learning and development services as needed.

Requirements

Work Experience: Five (5) years of experience in human resources, education, training and development, information systems, computer science, or other related discipline. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. At least one (1) year of experience designing, developing, and leading instructional activities both online and in-person. Experience developing learning content using a variety of development tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, HTML, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Raptivity, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in human resources, educational technology, adult and lifelong learning, training and development, information systems, computer science, or other related disciplines.

Work Experience: Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience using web conferencing applications such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Experience training others in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.

Pay Range: $70,200.00 - $105,300.00 Minimum $70,200.00 Midpoint $87,700.00 Maximum $105,300.00
