Job description
- Design, build, and maintain core components of the TQC platform
- Develop capabilities for cryptographic discovery, telemetry collection, and compliance reporting
- Work across a multi-language stack (Go, C++, Rust, React)
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving networking, concurrency, system performance, and distributed components
- Enhance platform observability (logging, metrics, diagnostics) for mission environments
- Support integration with enterprise and government systems
- Participate in architecture, design reviews, and secure development practices
- Collaborate with product, security, and domain experts in cryptography and compliance
- Ensure software aligns with secure coding standards and regulatory expectations
- Use AI-assisted tools responsibly, validating outputs for correctness, security, and reliability
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Comfortable working in complex, production-grade environments
- Able to debug across system, network, and code boundaries
- Motivated by mission impact and national security outcomes
Expert level knowledge of every language or every part of the product is not required on day one, but the role does require the ability to learn quickly, debug deeply, and apply strong engineering judgment in unfamiliar areas., * 7+ years of experience building and operating production software systems
- Strong background in systems, infrastructure, or security engineering
- Proficiency in at least one: Go, C++, or Rust
- Experience working in complex, multi-component or distributed systems
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, sockets)
- Experience with concurrent, asynchronous, or high-performance systems
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex issues across system and network layers
- Experience designing modular architectures, APIs, or service boundaries
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and handling sensitive data
- Ability to quickly understand and improve large or unfamiliar codebases
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools, with the ability to review, validate, and safely apply generated code., * Experience supporting DoD, Federal, or regulated environments
- Familiarity with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) frameworks and Commercial National Security Algorithm Suite (CNSA) requirements
- Exposure to FedRAMP, STIG, or similar compliance frameworks
- Experience with network traffic analysis, packet capture, or endpoint telemetry
- Experience with cryptographic systems, PKI, or certificate lifecycle management
- Experience deploying software into air-gapped or controlled environments
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to technical leadership

Tychon LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help maintain, improve, and expand TYCHON Quantum Command (TQC), a multi-component security and infrastructure platform used for scanning, monitoring, reporting, and assessing cryptographic risk and Quantum Readiness across our customer environments .
This role focuses on developing and scaling a platform that operates across enterprise and government systems to discover cryptographic implementations, assess compliance (e.g., CNSA, NIST), and support quantum readiness initiatives.
You will work on complex, distributed, and performance-sensitive systems that interact with real-world infrastructure, networks, and endpoints.
