Solution Architect

You will join a Belgian IT department of approximately 30 professionals who work closely with colleagues and external partners across multiple countries. The environment includes a mix of modern and legacy systems, requiring a pragmatic and adaptable approach to technology and architecture. Your new role As a Solution Architect, you play a key role in translating business needs into scalable and secure technology solutions. You work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, developers and architects to define the technical direction of projects and ensure successful implementation. Your responsibilities include:

• Translating business and IT requirements into end-to-end solution designs
• Creating and documenting architecture and technical designs
• Defining the technologies, integration patterns and architectural standards to be applied
• Analysing how different applications and platforms interact within the organisation
• Supporting the evolution of complex application landscapes
• Ensuring security, quality and architectural consistency across solutions
• Collaborating with business stakeholders and IT teams in Belgium and abroad
• Guiding development teams and providing technical leadership
• Assisting in the resolution of complex technical challenges
• Promoting best practices related to software architecture, integration and application design

You will operate in an international environment where collaboration with both local and offshore teams is part of daily business.

For this Solution Architect position, we are looking for an experienced IT professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills. You ideally have:

• Fluency in English, combined with French or Dutch
• At least 8 years of relevant IT experience
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience
• Solid experience with Java-based environments
• Strong knowledge of API architectures, REST APIs and Swagger/OpenAPI
• Experience with microservices architectures
• Knowledge of container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift and Docker
• Understanding of authentication and security concepts, including OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
• Experience designing application and solution architectures
• The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience in consultancy or large international organisations is considered a strong asset. Experience within the financial sector is welcomed but not required.
