Job description

  • We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our GreenWave Team.

Connecting your world

As a Data Engineer within GreenWave, you will be responsible for the data and software platform powering passenger timeslot services. You will build and maintain backend applications, APIs, and data-intensive services that support operational decision making at Schiphol. Working closely with product owners, data scientists, and other engineers from other teams, you will translate business needs into reliable production-grade solutions.

  • Design, develop and maintain Python backend services and REST APIs used by internal and external consumers.
  • Build reliable integrations and data pipelines supporting GreenWave products and operational processes.
  • Deploy, monitor and operate applications in production environments using Azure and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution and continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to productionize models and data products.
  • Contribute to software engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and code quality practices.

Requirements

  • For this position you have:Strong Python backend and REST API development experience.
  • Experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
  • Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
  • Experience deploying and operating applications in production.
  • Experience with production monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
  • Experience delivering data-intensive platforms and/or APIs consumed externally.
  • Experience with CI/CD and git-based development workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.

English is the primary language used within the development team, while Dutch is important for collaborating effectively with stakeholders across Schiphol.

  • Besides the experience written above, it would be nice to have:Databricks.
  • Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis or similar asynchronous processing technologies.
