Job description
- Lead the production of user-centred software, ensuring development follows business requirements and best practice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to explore, design, and deliver solutions to complex client problems.
- Take ownership of software development and deployment pipelines, resolving issues and potential bottlenecks.
- Communicate and present prototypes, solutions, and progress to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Mentor and coach other engineers to support their professional development.
- Deliver Kotlin development services to our clients as a Senior Consultant.
- Lead by example and ensure technical excellence within squads and the engineering community.

Requirements
- Extensive experience in Kotlin and the JVM.
- Strong experience in Java and the full development lifecycle delivering user-centred digital solutions.
- Exposure to Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, or Nunjucks.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions.
- Expertise in building back-end services using Spring Boot and the wider Spring Framework.
- Experience in microservices design and architecture, including RESTful API services.
- Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and DevOps practices including containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Previous experience working on government or NHS projects, or in a consultancy environment, is desirable.
- Knowledge of Kafka or other asynchronous messaging systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of Helm is desirable.
