Job description

Working within agile, multidisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying modern cloud-native applications whilst contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering practices., * Develop and maintain applications using Java and Node.js.

  • Build scalable, secure, and resilient microservices.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, testers, and DevOps engineers.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, accessibility, and performance standards.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience with Java development.
  • Strong commercial experience with Node.js development.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of Git version control and modern development practices.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working on public sector or government projects.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure as Code principles.
