Principal Integration and Systems Validation Engineer

This role performs a mix of functional testing, equipment qualification and acceptance, plus problem identification and resolution, working with real equipment and supporting testing and demonstrations of capability to the customer across sites in the UK, Poland and the USA., * Working with stakeholders across the project, from within partner companies and the customer community, to plan trials that demonstrate integration and gather evidence to qualify Weapon Systems into a wider System of Systems environment

• Liaising with the systems engineering team and design teams to ensure adequate trials data is acquired, and to investigate and resolve design issues
• Analysing and reporting on in-depth system behaviour across its internal and external interfaces
• Delivering trials across a number of environments, including lab-based integration and functional rigs, System of Systems integration trials, acceptance trials and firing trials
• Conducting and supporting failure investigations
• Supporting safe and reliable trials, including developing and maintaining risk assessments, management of hardware and software assets, and control of hardware and software configuration

This is a UK-based role, with opportunities to travel abroad, offering a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment with guaranteed diverse work, and to become a member of an expanding team delivering key aspects of the latest generation of GBAD system programmes.

• Experience with Wireshark network monitoring tools
• Knowledge of network systems and protocols, including switch and router configuration and management
• Familiarity with DOORS & Engineering Test Management (ETM) requirements tools
• Basic understanding of network / cable assembly drawings
• Fault finding and root cause analysis experience at subsystem integration level
• Experience in customer-facing roles

The ideal candidate must have:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience communicating at an appropriate level with a wide and varied range of both engineering and management stakeholders
• Experience working within a large team, across multiple sites and with multiple departments
• Experience with V&V lifecycle, requirement and configuration management and defect reporting
