Job description

This is a hands-on infrastructure role covering Windows Server, VMware, cloud, and networking, with a mixture of BAU support, technical troubleshooting and involvement in infrastructure projects, migrations, and platform upgrades., * Administer, support, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and file services.

  • Manage and support VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter environments, including virtual machines, hosts, clusters, storage, and patching.
  • Support Microsoft Azure or AWS infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and backup.
  • Work across hybrid infrastructure environments, spanning on-premises, virtualised and cloud platforms.
  • Support core networking infrastructure including LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, wireless, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across server, virtualisation, cloud, and network environments.
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives.
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resilience.
  • Provide 3rd line technical support and carry out root cause analysis where required.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to infrastructure improvements and automation.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Practical experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure or AWS infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Experience working within hybrid on-premises/cloud environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, backup, and recovery technologies.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex infrastructure environments.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell or scripting/automation.
