Job description

  • Design, build, and ship features on our core platform - APIs, services, and integrations that power real-time conversational AI at scale
  • Own your work from first commit to production - you write it, you deploy it, you monitor it
  • Build backend services in TypeScript and Python; contribute to frontend interfaces in JavaScript
  • Integrate and extend AI-driven workflows - you’ll be writing against LLM APIs, not just using chat products
  • Collaborate daily with product and engineering in our SF office - no silos, no handoffs, just fast iteration
  • Use AI-native development tools (Claude Code, Cursor) as core parts of your workflow - not as a curiosity

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software engineering?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * 2+ years of software engineering experience with real production systems under your belt

  • Shipped something you’re proud of - a product, a feature, a platform - and can speak to it in detail
  • Strong command of TypeScript, Python, or both; JavaScript for frontend work
  • Experience with platform engineering fundamentals: APIs, microservices, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD
  • AI-fluent - you understand how LLMs work, how to build around them, and how to leverage AI tooling to move faster
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent rigor (we care about fundamentals)
  • Startup DNA: you move with urgency, figure things out independently, and don’t wait for a spec to tell you what’s obvious
  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco - you’ll be here 5 days a week

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience in conversational AI, NLP, or agentic systems
  • Domain knowledge in fintech, banking, or financial services
  • Prior startup experience, especially in a 10-50 person company

Benefits & conditions

Series A · $30M raised · Cash-flow positive. We’ve got real traction, real customers, and a real mission. You’ll work in a modern SF office, surrounded by engineers who ship, a leadership team that codes, and a CEO who can explain every layer of the stack. We offer competitive compensation, meaningful equity, full benefits, and the rarest thing in tech - genuine impact on people’s financial lives.

Compensation: Base $180,857-$220,498 + Bonus + Equity + Benefits

About the company

Banking is being reimagined-and customers expect every interaction to be easy, personal, and instant.

We are building a universal banking assistant that millions of U.S. consumers can use to transact across all financial institutions and, over time, autonomously drive their financial goals. Powered by our proprietary BankGPT platform, this assistant is positioned to displace age-old legacy systems within financial institutions and own the end-to-end CX stack, unlocking a $200B opportunity and potentially replacing multiple publicly traded companies.

Ultimately, our mission is to drive financial well-being for millions of consumers.

With over two-thirds of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, 50% holding less than $500 in savings, and only 17% financially literate, we aim to put financial well-being on autopilot to help solve this problem.
