Ejection Escape and Egress Systems Expert

Seeking expertise in aircraft ejection systems to support the Air Force T-7 training aircraft development program.

The T-7 is the advanced jet trainer currently in development for the US Air Force. Alion Science is hiring an expert qualified to review technical documentation from the aircraft contractor, evaluate the proposed system design and any recommended engineering changes, assess and communicate risks to leadership, and assist with the test and evaluation of the related systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advice to leadership regarding system requirements by studying drawings and technical data
• Implement escape system design and airworthiness safety policies, methods, and procedures that are compatible with the aircraft system
• Verify the T-7 escape system is compatible with the aircraft system and all occupants can safely egress from the aircraft with the aid of the aircraft’s functions for escape
• Evaluate, identify, and interpret test success criteria and results and recommend corrective action for any shortcomings
• Effectively interact with others in person and using telework methods
• Effectively communicate status, issues, risks, results, and recommendations through written and verbal communications

• BS in engineering or similar field
• 25+ years’ experience with ejection type escape and egress systems
• Working knowledge of USAF Airworthiness criteria 9.1.1, and its standards and methods of compliance
• SECRET clearance
• US Citizen

• Data reduction, analysis, and reporting experience
