Job description

Kforce has a client in Minneapolis, MN that is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer., Our client is seeking a Cloud Application Modernization Engineer to support a large-scale cloud transformation initiative. This role will focus on migrating applications and data from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure while supporting application modernization and platform conversion efforts., * Migrate applications and services from on-premises infrastructure to Azure

  • Support data conversion initiatives involving Oracle and SQL Server platforms
  • Develop and maintain Java-based applications and RESTful APIs
  • Work with Kubernetes-based deployments and containerized workloads
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to modernize legacy applications and infrastructure
  • Assist with cloud architecture, implementation, and operational support throughout migration activities

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and migrations
  • Strong Java development background
  • Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments
  • Experience migrating applications from on-premises environments to the cloud
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and/or Oracle technologies
  • Onsite Requirement: 4-5 days/week initially, transitioning to a more flexible hybrid schedule (3x onsite/week)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle-to-SQL Server conversion projects
  • Kafka experience
  • Experience working on enterprise modernization or cloud transformation initiatives

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
