Job description

Our client seeks a Full Stack Engineer to modernize and support a portfolio of Java-based applications. The role requires end-to-end ownership across requirements, development, testing, deployment, and support. The engineer will code across backend services in Java and frontend in Angular, work with SQL and Oracle databases, and apply AI-assisted development practices. The position includes maintaining and replacing legacy applications with a newer Java stack, partnering with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior developers, and managing stakeholder expectations. The engineer will support multiple applications, handle production issues during U.S. hours, and participate in weekend deployments that may occur Friday evenings., * Own full-stack delivery across requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support.

  • Develop backend services in Java and front-end features in Angular.
  • Design and optimize SQL queries and data models for Oracle and related SQL databases.
  • Apply AI-assisted development to improve code quality, velocity, and testing.
  • Improve application resiliency, manage vulnerabilities, and address end-of-life software.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate release processes with rollback strategies.
  • Maintain and modernize applications, reduce technical debt, and improve coverage.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and support user testing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews.
  • Support production during U.S. hours while coordinating with the India-based team.
  • Participate in deployments typically on weekends and Friday evenings.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10+ years of software engineering experience, with preference for 10+ years.
  • Strong Java backend and Angular frontend experience.
  • Proficiency with SQL and Oracle.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Exposure to application resiliency, vulnerability management, and support.
  • Experience owning deliverables independently in large enterprise environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple applications and streams of work.
  • AI-assisted development experience in day-to-day engineering.
  • Nice to have: Snowflake, cloud deployment experience, AML, data platforms or data lake, Kafka.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Benefits & conditions

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $60.00 to $70.00/hr. w2, Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
