Job description

  • Provide onsite engineering support for Chassis parts during vehicle and component launches at manufacturing plants.
  • Support current production programs and new product introductions across multiple vehicle projects.
  • Investigate manufacturing, assembly, quality, and performance issues related to chassis and mechanical systems.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis activities using methodologies such as: Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagrams, 5 Why Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Problem Solving and Corrective Action Processes
  • Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supplier quality, product engineering, and program teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Analyze assembly and installation processes, including press-fit operations and other manufacturing-critical processes.
  • Support containment activities, corrective action implementation, and validation of solutions.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and lessons learned from launch and production issues.
  • Monitor field, plant, and supplier concerns to identify trends and proactively address risks.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, manufacturability, reliability, and launch readiness.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between engineering and plant operations during launch activities.
  • Travel domestically up to 30% of the time
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated Chassis Launch Support Engineer to provide onsite launch and production support at manufacturing plants for current and upcoming vehicle programs. This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical engineer who enjoys solving complex problems in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about driving product quality, manufacturing readiness, and successful program launches., * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 5 years relevant experience.

  • Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, production, launch, quality, or product engineering activities
  • Must have experience with Chassis Suspension, or Hydraulic systems such as: Powertrain cooling systems, Battery cooling systems, Fuel systems or Thermal management systems
  • Strong mechanical systems background with the ability to understand system interactions and component functionality.
  • Demonstrated hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience performing structured root cause investigations and corrective action development.
  • Ability to work effectively in manufacturing and plant environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively domestically to support launch and production activities.

California Pay Range

$63-$68 USD
