Job description

  • Support day-to-day data center activities.
  • Proactively walk the data center throughout the day, watching for and alerting the customer of any issues such as amber lights or “hot” doors.
  • Escort dispatched field engineers when applicable.
  • Manage parts through the LOIS system, with training provided onsite.
  • Maintain documentation of the environment, including serial numbers, elevations, and runbooks.
  • Coordinate with the customer for maintenance activities such as power, cooling, and containment wall maintenance.
  • Perform BIOS lifecycle management, including adding users and patching.
  • Triage with technical support for scheduling break/fix activities.
  • Work at the direction of the customer team to update versions as needed.

Requirements

This is an onsite role to support day-to-day activities in a data center. The position involves working at a client site alongside and requires a mix of technical skills, strong customer service skills and the ability to function as a technical site coordinator., Technical Skills:

  • PowerEdge Rack/Tower experience.
  • iDRAC (Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller) experience.
  • RHEL and Ubuntu OS experience.
  • Experience working in a larger server environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PowerEdge XE server experience.

Additional Requirements

  • The candidate must be willing and committed to working 100% onsite at the customer location five days a week. This is an onsite-only role with no remote or travel-based options.
  • A background check and drug screen are required.
  • The selected candidate will be required to complete 50 hours of training.
