Job description
We are seeking a Production Control Engineer II / Data Center Technician to support critical data center operations in O’Fallon, Missouri. This individual will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of enterprise server and network infrastructure while ensuring system reliability and operational excellence. The role requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced data center environment and can work independently with minimal supervision., * Perform hardware installation, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning of enterprise servers and infrastructure.
- Rack, stack, cable, and power data center equipment including servers, network devices, monitoring systems, and other hardware.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware and network infrastructure issues.
- Support production control activities across systems software, hardware, applications, and data environments.
- Work with technical teams to improve system availability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with capacity planning, performance monitoring, and event-driven alerting.
- Provide second-level production support and maintain system management tools.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing and business continuity initiatives.
- Ensure production changes are thoroughly tested, documented, and implemented according to change management standards.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
- Recommend opportunities for automation and operational improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned while adhering to organizational policies and standards., This team is responsible for maintaining and supporting a large enterprise data center environment. Current initiatives include:
- Cabling modernization projects
- Cabinet consolidation efforts
- Infrastructure documentation improvements
- Hardware installations and upgrades
- Break/fix support and equipment decommissioning activities

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 2-4+ years of relevant IT operations, infrastructure, or data center experience.
- Experience supporting data center infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Server hardware installation and support
- Rack and stack activities
- Structured cabling (copper and fiber)
- Network hardware installation and troubleshooting
- Cooling and electrical systems concepts within a data center
- Ability to work independently and solve technical problems effectively.
- Strong communication and documentation skills., * Experience working in a regulated healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and change management practices.
- Experience with disaster recovery operations and business continuity planning.
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and performance management tools., The ideal candidate has hands-on data center experience and is comfortable performing physical infrastructure work in a production environment. This individual is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and capable of troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues while supporting enterprise-scale operations. Experience with structured cabling, server installations, and data center infrastructure projects is highly valued.
