Job description
The Defense group at Leidos has a career opening for a System Administrator on a DISA contract. This role is primarily on the customer site at Ft Meade, MD. Administrator will provide support for assigned systems supporting Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS)., * Provide Senior level expertise for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
- Lead as the Subject Matter Expert on all VDI related issues/needs.
- Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages.
- Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times.
- Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.
- Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed.
- Interacts with Tier III support and evaluates vendor products.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
- Application of security settings and other commercial best
- Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 8+ years of overall related experience with a Windows/Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server experience with an expertise in at least one.
- Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices
- Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI is required for this position.
- Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce, * Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
- Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.
- Experience with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow
- ITIL v3 Foundation certified
