Job description
EDC Consulting LLC (EDC) is seeking candidates for a full-time Virtualization Administrator in Radford, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, deployment, troubleshooting, and support of physical and virtual servers within a diverse and expanding virtualization environment. You will collaborate with our existing Virtualization team to implement new system hardware and software and contribute to the development of local operating procedures and policies as needed. This position demands the ability to monitor the environment closely and respond swiftly to time-critical situations., * Utilize 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience as a Senior VMWare Administrator.
- Manage and support various vSphere components, including vCenter, ESXi, VUM, and VUMDS, while demonstrating proficiency in networking concepts such as VLANs and routing.
- Exhibit familiarity with server virtualization technologies and SAN/storage concepts, including LUNs, HBAs, logical volumes, NFS, and iSCSI.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of server chassis technologies, such as Client c7000 and Cisco UCS.
- Apply security hardening techniques to maintain a secure virtualization environment.
- Implement OS security best practices and configure/manage/update large groups of servers.
- Desired skills include scripting (e.g., PowerShell, BASH, Python, Ansible), understanding of clustering concepts (e.g., WFC, Oracle RAC), creating and maintaining documentation, and providing training to junior team members.
- Create and maintain documentation to ensure efficient system management and troubleshooting.
- Train and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with 5+ years of experience or Associates with 7+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, BASH, Python, Ansible, etc.
- Familiarity with clustering concepts, including WFC and Oracle RAC.
- Experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidelines.
- In-depth knowledge of various operating systems, including Windows X, Windows Server 20XX, RHEL/OEL X.
- CompTIA Security + Certification
- Active Security Clearance
