Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java/J2EE technologies. Develop backend services and applications using Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture. Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs and web services. Develop scalable and reliable solutions for enterprise applications. Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established software engineering standards. Participate in code reviews, unit testing, application releases, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. Collaborate with developers, architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders in an Agile development environment. Support application enhancements, modernization initiatives, and ongoing maintenance activities.

Requirements

5+ years of professional Java development experience, including enterprise Java applications. Strong experience with Java/J2EE and Java 8 or higher. Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, and Spring Data. Experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs. Experience with unit testing frameworks and software development best practices. Experience with Gradle, Git, JSON, and related development tools. Experience working with application/web servers and web services. Working knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and scripting. Experience working within Agile software development methodologies. Understanding of software release procedures, coding standards, design documentation, configuration management, and change management processes. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Front-end development experience with React or Angular is a plus. Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript is a plus. Experience supporting large-scale federal government applications is desirable. Previous experience supporting DHS or CBP programs is a plus., Bachelor’s (Required) Experience: Front-end development: 1 year (Preferred) CSS: 1 year (Preferred) Angular: 1 year (Preferred) Java: 4 years (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ashburn, VA 20147 Salary: Competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and years of relevant experience. Job Type: Full-time Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a DHS Public Trust. An active DHS Public Trust or Top Secret (TS) clearance is a plus, but not required. Relocation: Candidates should be local to the Ashburn, VA area or willing to relocate. Flexible work from home options available.
