Job description

We are seeking a Software Validation Engineer to ensure the robustness, performance, and reliability of propulsive control systems. In this role, you will develop and implement advanced verification methods, craft automated test scripts, oversee test execution in real vehicle environments, and present data-driven analysis to engineering teams., * In-Vehicle & Systems Validation: Perform comprehensive software validation testing, analysis, and reporting for production Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software primarily in vehicle environments.

  • Test Case Development & Execution: Interpret complex system requirements to design, execute, and validate DVMs (Design Verification Methods) for system performance.
  • Automation & Scripting: Maintain, modify, and update a legacy Python test suite while writing new automated scripts, test features, and analysis tools to streamline validation efforts.
  • Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Read and interpret embedded C code and Model-Based Design (MBD) models to debug complex software issues during real-world vehicle testing.
  • Issue Tracking & Version Control: Log, track, and manage software defects using JIRA. Manage and maintain test scripts within version control systems while ensuring meticulous record retention aligned with established corporate guidelines.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or a closely related discipline).
  • Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience in automotive embedded systems software validation or development.
  • 1+ years of experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts and tools using Python (or similar scripting languages).
  • 1+ years of experience with calibration methodologies and tools (e.g., ATI Vision, ETAS INCA).
  • 1+ years of experience with CAN networks, On-Board Diagnostics (OBD), and diagnostic tools (e.g., CANalyzer, PTDiag).
  • 1+ years of experience with module emulators and interfaces (e.g., M5, M6, A8, A9, ETK, XETK).
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and debug embedded C code and participate in root-cause code reviews.
  • Proficiency with issue tracking systems like JIRA.
  • Applied engineering principles to analyze and resolve complex software/hardware issues.
  • Driving Requirement: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be capable of performing normal driving procedures on public roads in various conditions across all produced test vehicles., * Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test setups (cross-training opportunities available).
  • Solid understanding of vehicle architectures, subsystems, and control modules (PCM, HCM, TCM, BCM, ABS) across various powertrains (Gasoline, HEV, BEV).
  • Familiarity with Global Product Development System deliverables and reporting processes.
  • Valid Tier II vehicle test driving certification.
  • Experience with specialized lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers).
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
