Job description
As a Software Engineer on the Video Applications team, youâll design and implement high-quality features that directly impact millions of creative professionals. Youâll tackle complex technical challenges across our video editing applications, working with cutting-edge frameworks and technologies on both iOS and macOS. Collaborating closely with engineers across the Video Apps teams, youâll contribute to initiatives that push the boundaries of whatâs possible in professional video editing on Apple devices., Taking end-to-end ownership of shared instrumentation frameworks consumed by multiple products, from API design to CI pipelines to client integration
Implementing telemetry in Swift that is stable, accurate, performant, and meets Appleâs privacy standards from design through ship
Analyzing usage data to inform decisions, surface trends, and identify opportunities to delight our customers
Collaborating closely with cross-functional partners in engineering, product, and beyond to shape and deliver features together
Requirements
Customer focus and ability to make high-quality, user-centric product and technical decisions
Experience creating and refining APIs for adoption by other teams and developers
GENUINE PASSION FOR PROFESSIONAL CREATIVE TOOLS AND WORKFLOWS
Familiarity with video editing, media processing, or graphics programming.
Minimum Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years of software engineering experience with SwiftUI/Swift or UIKit/AppKit
At home in large, mature, ObjC codebases
Strong understanding of software engineering and computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design principles, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
Track record of owning a framework, SDK, or shared technical component end to end: API design, implementation, cross-team adoption, and evolution across releases
Proven ability to break down large features into practical, implementable solutions
Experience working on large, cross-functional, multi-team projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a highly collaborative environment
Self-directed problem solver who can work independently and drive initiatives to completion
Benefits & conditions
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
