Job description

  • Responsible for supporting and delivering key software products across the product lifecycle.
  • Working closely with the project teams including the System Design Authority, Engineering Manager and Team Engineers
  • Attending client and supplier meetings.
  • Attending and supporting equipment tests.

Requirements

  • On course for a degree in Software Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Understanding of Open Systems Architectures and Principles
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people at all levels both within the company and externally
  • Computer literacy to operate information systems. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong team focus
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently at times under own initiative
  • Ability to use own initiative when working under pressure
  • Prioritise and manage personal workload to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and overseas

Desirable primary software/system skills:

  • Java / JavaFX / Netbeans / Eclipse
  • C++ / Visual Studio
  • HMI design and development / User-centric design
  • Information Assurance, Cyber/Network Security
  • Software testing & verification
  • Experience/familiarity with software development lifecycles
  • UML / Enterprise Architect for system/software design
  • Atlassian Toolset (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence)
