Job description
My client, a large consultancy, is in need of a GCP Solution Architect for a 6 month contract inside IR35 based in Bristol offering 3 days per week remote but requiring 2 days per week on-site.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, and Cloud Solutions with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Expert-level hands-on experience with GCP data services including BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Vertex AI, Advanced proficiency in dbt, Python, and SQL for designing, building, and optimizing cloud-native data platforms and transformations, Strong expertise in ETL/ELT architecture, data pipeline development, data modelling, and data warehousing solutions, Proven experience delivering end-to-end enterprise data products, from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, and production support, Deep understanding of enterprise Data Architecture, including Data Mesh, Data Lakehouse, metadata, lineage, governance, and security frameworks, Extensive experience with Master Data Management (MDM) strategy, solution selection, integration, implementation, and enterprise data governance.
The ideal candidate will have Experience leveraging AI-enabled and GenAI-driven approaches for data engineering, development acceleration, automation, and intelligent analytics, Strong capability in data testing, validation, reconciliation, quality assurance, and production readiness assessments, Expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), deployment automation, production go-live, and operational support, Experience leading cloud modernization, migration, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives, Demonstrated ability to provide senior technical leadership, mentor engineers, and lead multidisciplinary feature teams comprising architects, engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders, Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and consulting skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable cloud solutions.
