Platform Engineer

This position requires someone who is passionate about cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering, with strong experience across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern DevOps practices. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure solutions within Google Cloud Platform.
• Build, maintain, and optimise cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Manage and support Kubernetes-based workloads and containerised applications.
• Implement and maintain cloud security, governance, and compliance controls.
• Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python or Golang.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable cloud platforms and services.
• Monitor platform performance and continuously improve operational efficiency.

• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong experience with core GCP services including:
• Compute Engine
• BigQuery
• Kubernetes
• Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Strong Scripting or development skills in Python and/or Golang.
• Solid understanding of cloud security and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
• experience working within enterprise cloud environments and adhering to governance standards., * Must be based in or able to commute to Glasgow.
• This is a 5-day onsite role.
• Candidates must have a valid visa or unrestricted right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
