Job description

Oncology, Medicare Medicaid Power BI Scheduling Operations Leadership Management Data Entry Innovation Immunology Warehousing Coordinating, The Associate Director, Scheduling and Logisticsleads production scheduling and logistics for all production streams at the Upper Merion site, ensuring execution of the 0-12 week production schedule, adherence to standard work, and achievement of key performance indicators including schedule adherence and site run rate. The role supports network planning by developing capacity statements for the 13-36 month Master Production Schedule (MPS) and partnering with Global Planning to validate capacity and demand alignment. The position is accountable for Bulk Drug Substance receipts and shipments, represents the site with external customers when required, and collaborates across GSK functions to align operations with business objectives. Working closely with the Site Leadership Team, the manager assesses capacity, recommends solutions, and supports decisions that ensure site capability meets patient and business needs.

Responsibilities as a site leader:

  • Enforce strict adherence to GSK EHS, OSHA, and GMP/FDA guidelines, ensuring procedures are in place for compliance.
  • Implement GPS standards of work, with a focus on data trending and visible demonstration of activities and performance deviations to solve.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for integrated scheduling for all value streams, ensuring alignment with defined standard work. Ensure appropriate process in place to request, assess, and schedule non-standard activities (i.e. maintenance, special studies, miscellaneous stoppages) into the production schedule whilst continually maintaining site schedule requirements.
  • Ensuring measurement and performance management of Conformance to Schedule (CtS) for all Production work centres, and S&L attendance as required at performance management meetings, including escalation process in place for any supply detractors, and taking a leading role in ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Monitor and define capacity statements for the 13-36-month MPS, coordinating with Global Planning to ensure MPS suitability.
  • Manage the logistics (receipts and shipments) for Bulk Drug Substance (BDS), to and from the site, ensuring clear view of logistics schedule and coordinating with other functions on site (Warehouse, Quality Assurance) to ensure schedule is achievable.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders on-site and within GSK to align the S&L team with the operational requirements and business objectives of the multi-product facility. Especially with respect to evaluating site capacity, proposing solutions, and influencing business decisions to fulfill patient and business demands.
  • Maintain constant monitoring and accuracy of critical data fields related to work centers in ERP, Scheduling, and other systems .
  • Manage and develop the team in accordance with GSK and Upper Merion-specific policies, fostering a culture aligned with GSK’s leadership expectations. Contribute to the site’s Strategic Workforce Planning through succession planning and performance management, ensuring a trained, capable, and high-performing team.
  • Represent Upper Merion site/GSK to external customers as needed, in line with the GSK Supply and Demand operating model.

  • 5+ years of experience in GMP manufacturing facility, preferably biopharma.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience with direct reports
  • 2+ years of experience in ERP data entry and management, controls, and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualification If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Demonstrated ability to use tools such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, to analyze, document, and share short- and long-term strategies and proposals across all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to benchmark across teams and sites, define best practices for sites and drive adoption of these best practices.
  • APICS Certification as Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or similar preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to design and deploy continuous improvement initiatives, improving efficiency and reducing cycle time.
  • Experience leading teams through preparation and execution of regulatory audits
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification and demonstrated ability to utilize and coach others in principles.
  • Intermediate computer literacy; Excel, Word, Power BI, ERP.
