Job description

The new Software Engineer will support the LE2 Program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong software engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future for FBM!

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

  • Support the EGSE Organization as a software engineer.
  • You will support modernization efforts geared toward achieving greater efficiency, security, automation and scalability
  • You will collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, electrical and test engineers using the Agile Development methodology.
  • Coordinate with the product line manager and directorates to support needs., Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Requirements

  • Programming experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, LabView, Python, Java, TestStand
  • 3+ years of professional experience for this role.
  • You will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, thus US Citizenship is required., * Programming experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, LabView, Python, Java, TestStand
  • Experience working on project teams and development efforts
  • Experience with one of more of the following: developing software requirements, CONOPs, and software design
  • Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement)
  • Issue Tracking and troubleshooting experience

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Experience in simulation software development, software testing and validation, and software configuration management
  • Experience with Telemetry Data Processing (TDP)
  • Experience working with RF
  • Experience with multiple OS platforms such as Linux and Windows
  • Systems thinking mindset
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps processes and culture
  • Experience with Jira or other Atlassian tool sets
  • Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure
  • Possess strong communication, social, and problem resolution skills

This position does not support teleworking you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Cape Canaveral FL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time., Full-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
