Job description
In this role the candidate will support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure.
This role is responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity across LAN/WAN environments while collaborating with senior engineers on network design and optimization.
The ideal candidate brings strong networking fundamentals and a hands-on approach to supporting production environments.
Configure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls from vendors such as Cisco and Juniper Networks.
Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues.Implement and support core networking technologies including VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and basic network security controls.
Troubleshoot network incidents across LAN/WAN environments, performing root cause analysis and documenting resolutions.Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support network changes, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
Candidate will be responsible for traveling to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, independently perform troubleshooting, and provide status updates to Program personnel.
The candidate may be required to support critical activities outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Any other required tasks by the program.
Requirements
Generally has 3+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
The position requires an IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.Must have an active Secret Security Clearance. Must be a US Citizen and have/maintain a valid US passport.
This position requires an CCNA or JNCIA certificationMust be a proven network engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design, development and testing methodologies.
Must have an understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF.Must have network traffic analysis, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Must have firewall experience especially Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo AltoMust have experience in UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs. Must have hands on experience with multi-vendor switching routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Visio.
Preferred Skills:
Top Secret Clearance
CCNP or JNCIP CertificationFoundation, NSX, vSAN, and AriaExperience with network automation using AnsibleUnderstand standard DOD security practices such as, STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts.
Prior C2BMC experience
Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
