Job description

Support the implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure across LAN/WAN environments. Configure and maintain network devices, resolve connectivity and performance issues, support network changes and infrastructure projects, and conduct remote-site installations and troubleshooting., * Support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure

  • Maintain reliable connectivity across LAN/WAN environments while collaborating with senior engineers on network design and optimization
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls from vendors such as Cisco and Juniper Networks
  • Monitor network performance and availability while identifying and resolving connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues
  • Implement and support VLANs, routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, and basic network security controls
  • Troubleshoot network incidents across LAN/WAN environments, conduct root cause analysis, and document resolutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams on network changes, upgrades, and infrastructure projects
  • Travel to remote locations to lead and conduct network installations, independently troubleshoot issues, and provide status updates to program personnel
  • Support critical activities outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Complete other required tasks assigned by the program
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance

  • Critical activities may require support during evenings and weekends

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and typically 5+ years of experience in an engineering classification; Master’s degree with typically 3+ years of experience in an engineering classification; or PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, or equivalent
  • CCNA or JNCIA certification
  • Hands-on mid-level network engineering experience with network design, development, and testing methodologies
  • Understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF
  • Network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting skills
  • Firewall experience, particularly with Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
  • Hands-on experience with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs
  • Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching and routing, including Juniper and Cisco, WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment
  • Effective communication, writing, and presentation skills using Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint and Visio

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

  • CCNP or JNCIP Certification
  • Foundation, NSX, vSAN, and Aria
  • Network automation using Ansible
  • Understanding of standard DoD security practices, including STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts
  • Prior C2BMC experience
