Network Cable Product & Purchasing Specialist

GigaTech Products is a growing hardware company based in Irvine, CA specializing in networking connectivity solutions. We are seeking a Network Cable Product & Purchasing Specialist to support our fiber, copper/CAT, power, and related network cable product categories.

This is a hands-on, office-based product support and purchasing role. It is NOT a traditional high-level Product Manager role, SaaS/software Product Manager role, field installer role, cabling installer role, low-voltage technician role, construction project manager role, or telecom deployment role.

The person in this role will help Sales and Sales Support scope customer cable requests, support quotes, work with vendors, maintain product/SKU data, update pricing/product information, and assist with purchasing follow-up., * Support Sales and Sales Support with product questions, quote support, and customer project scoping

• Help clarify customer requirements including product type, connector type, cable length, configuration, application, availability, substitutions, and vendor options
• Support day-to-day management of fiber optic, copper/CAT, power, and related network cable products
• Work with vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, availability, specifications, and product information
• Support purchasing activity including vendor follow-up, purchase order support, and product availability
• Maintain and update product data, SKUs, descriptions, specifications, and pricing information in internal systems
• Work with Excel-based pricing/product tools to support quoting, product lookup, and data accuracy
• Research product options, alternatives, and vendor solutions to support customer requests
• Assist with product documentation, internal reference materials, and product information cleanup
• Communicate clearly with Sales, Sales Support, Operations, Purchasing, and management on product-related questions and issues

We are ideally looking for someone with direct experience in fiber optic, copper/CAT, and network cable products. Candidates with related technical hardware product experience may also be considered if they have strong critical thinking skills, strong Excel ability, product/SKU data experience, vendor coordination experience, and the ability to learn technical product details quickly., * Strong product knowledge or technical aptitude related to fiber optic, copper/CAT, power, or network cable products

• Ability to help scope customer product requirements and support accurate quoting
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, filtering, data review, and working with pricing/product files
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with SKUs, product descriptions, specifications, and vendor information
• Experience with vendor coordination, purchasing support, product support, sales support, or related technical product work
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Ability to communicate technical product information clearly to internal teams
• Comfortable with repetitive, hands-on execution work such as quote support, vendor follow-up, product data updates, and pricing file review
• Reliable, responsive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced small-company environment

Preferred Experience

• Direct experience with fiber optic cable, copper/Ethernet cable, CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, power cords, or related network cable products
• Experience with connector types, cable lengths, configurations, substitutions, availability, and vendor sourcing
• Experience in networking hardware, technical distribution, IT hardware, data center infrastructure, AV connectivity, electrical components, or related technical hardware products
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite
• Experience supporting Sales, Sales Support, Purchasing, or Operations teams
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools for research, product comparison, data analysis, documentation, and productivity

• Salary $75,000 - $85,000 Depending on Experience
