Job description
- Develop, implement, and maintain Configuration Management (CM) and Change Management (ChM) programs, policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures to ensure effective governance, control, and accountability of IT infrastructure, applications, and enterprise technology environments.
- Manage the end-to-end change management process by receiving, assessing, documenting, and tracking Requests for Change (RFCs), including impact analysis, risk assessment, testing requirements, implementation planning, and rollback procedures to minimize operational risk.
- Coordinate change reviews, approvals, and Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities, scheduling and overseeing changes to reduce service disruptions while ensuring all modifications are properly authorized, tested, implemented, and documented.
- Maintain configuration baselines, system inventories, network diagrams, configuration repositories, and related documentation, ensuring records are updated within required timelines and accurately reflect approved changes across all supported environments.
- Collaborate with system and network engineers to support configuration and change-related engineering activities, conduct configuration audits and compliance reviews, and promote best practices for version control, release management, disaster recovery, and operational continuity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Years of Experience: At least 5 years CM/ChM and/or IT systems engineering experience supporting a government agency.
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (preferred); equivalent experience considered.
- Clearance Requirements: Must have active Top Secret (TS) clearance and the ability to obtain TS with SCI access.
- Certification Requirements: ITIL v4 Foundation/Specialist and/or PMP (per task requirements).
- Any other work-related qualifications needed for the role: Strong documentation discipline; familiarity with records management expectations and operating in secure environments with controlled change.
