Job description

We are seeking an experienced Trusted Tester Level II (Web Tester & Document Remediation) to support a client Section 508 accessibility program. This role will perform advanced accessibility testing of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), electronic document remediation, and provide technical guidance related to Section 508 compliance. The successful candidate will work across both web accessibility testing and electronic document remediation, using client-approved Trusted Tester methodologies and Federal client Council-endorsed document accessibility testing practices., * Conduct Section 508 accessibility testing of web-based and other ICT solutions.

  • Apply the DHS Trusted Tester Section 508 Conformance Test Process for Web, Version 5.0 or later.
  • Perform accessibility testing using client-approved assessment methods, testing tools, and reporting formats.
  • Evaluate and remediate electronic documents and forms, including Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
  • Apply Section 508 Tests for Documents endorsed by the Federal client Council Community of Practice.
  • Develop accessibility test plans.
  • Interpret accessibility test results and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Identify Section 508 defects and provide remediation support for ICT.
  • Provide technical assistance regarding Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) and Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs).
  • Respond to Section 508 questions arising during technical evaluations and accessibility testing.
  • Provide technical assistance to individuals completing accessibility training and Trusted Tester certification examinations.
  • Document testing findings, remediation recommendations, and accessibility results clearly and accurately.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of the Revised Section 508 Standards.
  • Trusted Tester Level 5 or later Certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of accessibility testing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience testing and remediating electronic documents for Section 508 standards.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic document remediation, including Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
  • Ability to develop accessibility test plans and interpret accessibility testing results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and explain accessibility issues and remediation approaches.

Security Requirement:

  • Must be able to successfully complete the client background/suitability screening process and obtain required client access credentials, as applicable.
